Weather

Gdansk enjoys a temperate climate with cold, cloudy, moderately-severe winters and mild summers with frequent showers and thunderstorms. Average temperatures range from -1.0°C to 17.2°C.
The seasons are clearly differentiated:

  • July and August are the hottest months with temperature reaching as high as 30-35C. This summer weather is perfect to go the beach and enjoy the sea.
  • Autumn comes in September and is at first warm and usually sunny, turning cold, damp and foggy in November.
  • Winter lasts from December to March and includes periods of snow. January and February are the coldest months with the temperature sometimes dropping as low as -15°C.
  • Spring starts in March and is initially cold and windy, later becoming pleasantly warm and often very sunny.
